“The Lydia Effect: An Open Heart” Virtual Exchange is inspired by Acts 16:11–40 and the powerful reminder that one open heart can become part of something God is doing far beyond one moment.

Lydia was a businesswoman who sold purple cloth, a valuable trade connected to wealth and influence. She was also a worshiper of God and a woman whose heart was ready for His calling. She listened, responded in faith, opened her heart to God and opened her home to others. Her faith became a doorway for encouragement, connection and the early work of the church in Philippi.

This exciting Virtual Exchange will invite women to reflect on their own “Lydia Moment” and consider how God is opening hearts, awakening gifts and creating impact in this season.

Patricia Estelle from Memphis, TN will serve as the facilitator and share inspiring insights into Lydia’s story and the beauty of an open heart. She will also guide us in reflecting on how God can use our faith, obedience and willingness for His purpose.

This is the Season of Purple! So grab your purple hat, scarf, pen and journal as we prepare for a spirit-filled exchange of encouragement, reflection and connection.

Come ready to grow, connect and leave renewed, inspired and open to what God is revealing in this season!

Patricia (Pat) Wooden-Estelle

Pat is a Christian whose desire is to remain a faithful servant, share the Gospel of Christ, practice discipleship daily, and love God with all her heart, soul and mind.

Pat is a member of Ross Road Church of Christ. She is also a member of the iServe Women’s Ministry. She enjoys attending the ministry’s weekly Bible Study. Because Pat lives by Matthew 6:33–34 (NLT), she does not worry about everyday life. She prays about it.

During this season of her life, Pat feels God has richly blessed her beyond her expectations. Pat’s favorite Scriptures are John 3:16 (NLT): “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” and Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

In comparing herself to Lydia, Pat worships God wholeheartedly. She positively influences others through her service. She shows courageous hospitality, serves as a caregiver and loves everyone with an open heart.

Pat was happily married to her husband, Freddie, for 28 years. She has been a widow for more than 10 years.

She has two daughters and three grandchildren. She adores them and enjoys spending time with them. She also enjoys cooking, baking and traveling.

Professionally, Pat is a retired Sales Account Executive with FedEx Corp. She was honored with the President’s Club Outstanding Sales Achievement Award.

She earned an Associate of Science degree from Southwest Tennessee Community College and completed three years of undergraduate study at the University of Memphis.
